As noted below on this blog, Pace was featured by AOL’s City’s Best as the place to be on Valentine’s Day and we couldn’t agree more. We will be doing a set menu with some special wine options and pairings with the help of Pace’s favorite sommelier, Giuseppe Cossu.

Pace is doing it after hours! Thursday, December 9th from 10 PM – 1 AM will be a celebration of good vibes, good music and good friends ♥. The party starts at 10 PM with an hour of open mic goodness hosted by our main man, Cipes. And then DJ Raah will spin us into the wee hours with positive music to move your mind, body and spirit. Sounds good, right? But wait. There’s more! After 10 PM we’ll be featuring drink specials and small plates packed with not only deliciousness but with soulfulness as well. Now how can you beat that? I’m excited. Are you excited? Yup.

Taste of Beverly Hills

There’s olive oil in them there hills! Well, there will be on September 3rd and 4th as Pace and Chef Sandy Gendel participate in the 1st annual Food & Wine magazine’s Taste of Beverly Hills.

From the Taste of Beverly Hills website:

Taste of Beverly Hills is a four-day festival that will celebrate all things epicurean in ALL of Los Angeles. The festival will consist of everything from local restaurant tastings and live cooking demonstrations from world renown chefs, to a series of wine seminars from top vintners and live musical performances from award winning artists.

We’ll be doing our thing two of the four days starting with The Art of Mixing on Friday, September 3rd from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

The Art of Mixing
Where the best in culinary meets the best in cocktails! As guests sample cuisine from the city’s top restaurants, the evening will also showcase some of the city’s top mixologists and DJs.

* Some of the most unique and perfectly blended cocktails designed by some of LA’s top mixologists
* Grand Tasting featuring 40+ hand-picked restaurants from the Los Angeles area
* Beer, wine & cocktail tastings
* LA’s best DJs
* Live musical performance

Chef Gendel is proud to be part of the Seeds of Change “Field Day” event this Thursday (that’s tomorrow…sorry for the last-minute notice) at McGrath Family Farms in Camarillo.

From the CCOF website:
“Seeds of Change and McGrath Family Farms will hold a field day featuring our new varieties for 2011 – tomatoes, melons, summer squash, and more! The event includes field tours, produce displays, and tasting panels. Network with growers, produce buyers, chefs and seed specialists.”
